What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website’s server sends to your browser and that your browser stores on your device. Cookies let a site recognise your browser on later visits — for example, to keep you signed in or to remember your preferences. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, keep small pieces of information on your device in the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.

What information do our cookies hold?

Our cookies hold only what the service needs: a secure identifier for your signed-in session, protection codes for our forms, and your settings and preferences. They do not hold advertising identifiers, and they do not record your browsing on other websites. We do not use cookie data to build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share it with advertisers.

Which types of cookies do we use, and why?

We use the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies. These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are set in response to actions you take — signing in, submitting a form, or saving your cookie choices — and they protect your account against misuse. You can set your browser to block them, but then you won’t be able to sign in.
• Functional (preference) cookies. These remember choices you make, such as your language, light or dark display, layout and accessibility settings, so you don’t have to set them again on every visit. Most of them are stored only on your device and never sent to us. If you delete them, the site simply returns to its default settings.

We do not use performance or analytics cookies, social-media cookies, or advertising and targeting cookies. If we ever add analytics, it will run only if you allow “Analytics cookies” in the cookie settings, and we will update this policy first.

Web beacons in our emails

The emails we send you — such as price alerts and password resets — are delivered through an email service provider, which may use a tiny invisible image (a “web beacon” or “pixel”) to record whether an email was delivered and opened. We use this information only to make sure our emails reach you. Most email apps let you block remote images, which also blocks these beacons.

Third parties

Tradocus does not load advertising, social-media or analytics scripts from other companies, so no third party sets cookies through our website. Market prices and company data are fetched by our servers, not by your browser.

How do we respond to “Do Not Track” signals?

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because Tradocus does not track you across other websites or use advertising cookies, the site already works the way this signal requests, whether or not your browser sends it.

Your choices

When you first visit, we ask for your cookie preferences. You can change them at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Most browsers also let you see which cookies are stored, delete them, block them, or be alerted before one is set. Note that blocking essential cookies will stop you from signing in, and deleting preference cookies will reset your settings. If you allowed optional cookies earlier, you can withdraw that consent in the same way.
